Peter Revson and Denny Hulme
1971 Road Atlanta Can-Am

For 1971, McLaren added Peter Revson to drive with Denny Hulme in the Can-Am, adding to an already invincible team. This would prove to be Revson’s breakout year. He won the Can-Am championship and finished second in the Indy 500, after having won the pole position. Although he came from a wealthy background, Revson did not buy his way to the top ranks. He was extremely competitive and earned all the success he achieved. He seemed to be a very easy-going guy from what I saw and seemed to get along well with everyone on the team.
