1969 24 Hours of Daytona

The #53 Porsche entering the infield at Daytona. After dominating the previous year, Porsche was embarrassed with engine failures in all of the team cars. But, the 908 was a beautiful car.

I loved going to the 24 Hours of Daytona. As compared to Sebring, the facilities were luxurious: the pits were huge and open, and there were great bathrooms (at least for the time!) Plus, they had a cafe in the paddock where you could get real food. I also liked the light in February in North Florida. It had a transparent, golden quality that Sebring never had.
